Discussion: Chain Management HCA 610

How important is supply chain management? How does supply chain management affect an organization’s financial position?

Why would a company need to measure the capacity (throughput) of its various resources (x-ray machines, exam rooms, length of stay, and so on)? What role does capacity management play in decision-making?

Details:

You must conduct an interview with a senior executive from a health care organization for this assignment. In preparation for the Operations Analysis Diagram assignment, you must ask the following questions as well as come up with two additional questions of your own:

1) With what kind of health-care organization are you affiliated? What is your position in the health-care system? Describe your position and responsibilities.

2) Explain how your health care organization’s vision, mission, goals, and strategic plan are related.

3) Tell me about a time when your organization’s operational performance had an impact on its ability to deliver services and meet performance targets, either positively or negatively.

interview questions and responses.

The following should be included in your reflection:

1) Your reaction to each question answered by the interviewee. Were you taken aback? What made you agree or disagree, and why?

2) Any additional questions or information you’d like to have based on the interviewee’s response.

Prepare this assignment in accordance with the APA guidelines found in the Student Success Center’s APA Style Guide. There is no need for an abstract.

Post your interview questions, including the two extras you created, responses, and reflection to your instructor for this module as well as to the discussion forum in Module 4 under the appropriate thread.

You should proofread your paper. However, do not rely solely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part, and your grade will suffer as a result. Papers with a high number of misspelled words and grammatical errors will be penalized. Before submitting your paper, go over it in silence and then aloud, and make any necessary changes. It is often beneficial to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Uncorrected mistakes are preferable to handwritten corrections.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point typeface (10 to 12 characters per inch). Smaller or compressed type, as well as papers with narrow margins or single spacing, are difficult to read. It is preferable to allow your essay to exceed the recommended number of pages rather than attempting to compress it into fewer pages.

Large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are also unacceptable, waste trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced, and have a one-inch margin on all four sides of each page. When submitting hard copies, use white paper and print with dark ink. It will be difficult to follow your argument if it is difficult to read your essay.
