Question Description
Policy Brief Information
NURS 415 (Health Care in a Global Society)
This health promotion project/activity is a policy brief paper designed to investigate health and development issues/problems in specific countries. Each student will be assigned a country, but he or she will choose his or her own issue or problem of interest.
The following issues should be addressed in the paper:
The Executive Summary/Introduction: This section is the eye catcher, similar to a paper abstract that captures all aspects of the paper in a nutshell!
What are the nature and scope of the problem/issue? Provide detailed information about the nature and magnitude (the impact); how
this problem/issue affects the country; and provide citations (sources of your information).
Who is affected by this issue/problem? Provide citations for those who are affected by this problem/issue.
What are the problem/risk issue’s factors? Citations are required. Indicate; describe the risk factors for developing this problem/issue.
What are the problem’s or issue’s economic and social ramifications? Provide specific information and citations.
What are the top three priority steps you recommend to effectively address the problem/issue, and what is your reasoning behind these suggestions? (You must make three recommendations and explain why you made them.) The justifications should be evidence-based or best practices. This section of the paper is the most important). Citations should be provided.
This is where you make your policy brief’s concluding statements!
70% of the above is correct.
Spelling, Grammar, and Mechanics: 10%
20 percent: APA format, including cover page, citations, reference page, and other details based on the American Psychological Association (6th Edition) publication Manual.
You should proofread your paper. However, do not rely solely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part, and your grade will suffer as a result. Papers with a high number of misspelled words and grammatical errors will be penalized. Before submitting your paper, go over it in silence and then aloud, and make any necessary changes. It is often beneficial to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Uncorrected mistakes are preferable to handwritten corrections.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point typeface (10 to 12 characters per inch). Smaller or compressed type, as well as papers with narrow margins or single spacing, are difficult to read. It is preferable to allow your essay to exceed the recommended number of pages rather than attempting to compress it into fewer pages.
Large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are also unacceptable, waste trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced, and have a one-inch margin on all four sides of each page. When submitting hard copies, use white paper and print with dark ink. It will be difficult to follow your argument if it is difficult to read your essay.
