The purpose of assignment is to log all time completed in the executive leadership practicum experience.

Requirements

All hours are logged on the Practicum Log Excel Spreadsheet.

Please Log 2 days a week, 8 hours a day, not more than 4 hours increment for one activity, for a total of 6 days starting on January 20th to February 8.

Remember the DNP essentials are found on the bottom of the spreadsheet. We are supposed to use all the essentials. so please try to use different ones for different activities.

Only use the Practicum Log file attached above to document practicum hours. Review the Guidelines below carefully and notify the course faculty if you have questions.
Purpose

1. Hours must contribute to the development/attainment of DNP Essentials but also executive leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities. It is the students responsibility to ensure documentation clearly reflects these requirements.
2. Hours that are approved by a preceptor but do not meet the above requirements will be disallowed by the course faculty during the assignment grading process. Students are responsible for contacting the course instructor to determine whether the hours may be redocumented with additional clarity to gain final approval.

3. Students are encouraged to front-load hours in the course in case something unexpected happens later in the course that prevents completion of practicum hours.
4. Remember that the focus of the practicum experience should be on developing and/or expanding executive leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities. Document your time in the practicum log in no greater than four hour increments of time. Ensure the description of activities is detailed, specific, and explains how the activity helped you meet the corresponding DNP Essential.
