Sample Answer 2 for As an advanced registered nurse, discuss your future role in advocating for equitable population health services and policies

As an advanced registered nurse, I understand the importance of equitable population health services and policies that promote equitable healthcare across race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. My future role will involve working with healthcare facilities and different social groups to identify health disparities and advocate for policy change that will create more accessible healthcare for all. My ultimate goal is to inform and educate other nurses, policymakers, and the public in order to encourage support for such changes. With my knowledge of healthcare systems, I am confident that I can be an effective leader in advocating for measures to ensure equitable access to healthcare for everyone.

One of the greatest challenges of population advocacy is educating policymakers and gaining the understanding required to recognize the significant effect health disparities have on the population (Bekemeier et al., 2021). These disparities can often garner resistance from individuals or groups who are apprehensive about changes or do not recognize the need for them, making it even more difficult to develop a roadmap of tangible solutions that address these inequalities. Additionally, due to limited resources, it can be tricky to approach this challenge with a distinct action plan that encompasses all necessary variables (Kim et al., 2021). Finding ways to demonstrate how major health disparities affect large portion of the population and knowing how best to utilize available resources represents a formidable hurdle for any population advocate.

To address these challenges, I would seek to establish connections with decision-makers and other stakeholders in the healthcare system. Furthermore, I may attempt to educate them about the significance of tackling health inequalities and the effects it may have on population health by building relationships. Along with advocating for legislation that address health inequities, I would also try to include the broader public in advocacy initiatives. Additionally, to overcome the challenge or shortage of resources, I would promote the distribution of greater financing to programs that address health inequities (David et al., 2020). Finally, I would collaborate with the different healthcare professionals and local leaders to identify areas of need and create creative solutions that make the most of current resources.

As an advanced registered nurse, I believe passionately in advocating for equitable population health services and policies to

ensure everyone has access to the care they need. This is especially important given the health disparities many people, particularly those from historically marginalized communities, face today (Hubbert et al., 2020). My professional commitment to this work will involve monitoring health agents, working on policy initiatives with government officials and healthcare professionals, engaging with local organizations and community members, as well as serving on committees and task forces devoted to making better healthcare available to all.

Sample Answer 3 for As an advanced registered nurse, discuss your future role in advocating for equitable population health services and policies

Advocacy is an important ethical obligation of the nursing practice. Nurses constitute the largest group of health professionals, which implies that they can significantly aid in the realization of positive policy change (DeNisco & Barker, 2015). As an advanced practice nurse, I have a role in using my expertise to achieve policy advocacy. I also have a role in advocating for equitable population health policies and services. I will achieve this by directly advocating for patients in particular instances where there is need. I have a role in persuading those in positions of authority regarding the need to provide equitable population health policies and services. For example, I might take initiative of providing an account of the healthcare costs and assess how this negatively affects access to care in a particular community. I can use my real life examples in nursing care to illustrate the needs of patients, as well as make recommendations on public policy.

Some of the areas in which I can have an influence r patient mortality and morbidity. I can use my position as an advanced practice nurse to report on issues to do with quality outcomes, access to care, and healthcare costs. Such reports are imperative for healthcare policymakers. I will also contribute to the expansion of the Healthcare infrastructure of vulnerable communities and improve access to care within thus the local school system. In endeavoring to achieve policy changes as an advanced practice nurse, I expect to face a number of barriers. First, since the physician may have more influence in my practice, I may find myself powerless in trying to influence policy. Second, I may not be able to carry out the advocacy role effectively because of patient demands. Finally, I may not have the organizational support that I require to have an impact on population advocacy policy.

Sample Answer 4 for As an advanced registered nurse, discuss your future role in advocating for equitable population health services and policies

Advanced registered nurses are professionals with higher levels of education and understand the different components of healthcare delivery. As patient advocates, advanced registered nurses focus on issues and policy matter that affect the overall delivery of quality care. In their report on the future of nursing, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, asserts that nurses have obligations to advance health equity to help reduce the current disparities (Bergren et al., 2021). The report indicates that this decade will test nurses in new and complex ways as they live and work at the intersection of health, education and communities. They also work in diverse settings and practices at a range of professional levels. The implication is that they should advocate for increased resource allocation, healthy equity and patient’s overall benefit from the system and providers.

As such, the future role of nurses as advocates is well illustrated in different ways, especially the need to improve access and quality care (Hassmiller et al., 2022). The report by the academies asserts that while nurses play the critical role in attaining the health equity goal, they require support, a strong education, increased autonomy to practice, and a supportive work environment. Through this, they will meet the challenges that may impact their advocacy roles.

These barriers include insufficient support from organizational managers and leaders, lack of sufficient expertise and knowledge in subject matter, and resource limitations due to competing healthcare needs among the different patient populations (Sundean, 2019). These barriers impact the advocacy role of advanced practice nurses. Again, these barriers make it difficult for the nurses to execute effective interventions among the targeted populations. The implication is that while nurses, especially advanced registered nurses (ARNs), play a critical role in care provision, they face challenges that diminish their abilities and thus need sufficient support and resources.

You could also respond to these as it would count towards your required SIX discussion posts for the week.

I understand this is a lot of information to cover in 5 weeks, however, the Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Even in times like this, we are encouraged by God’s word that we have that ability in us to succeed with His strength.
