Assignment: Analysis of Dementia Delirium
Assignment: Analysis of Dementia Delirium
Question Description
APA, I HAVE INCLUDED TABLE TO BE USED FOR PICO ANALYSIS
Assignment 1: Application – PICO Analysis of Dementia, Delirium, and Depression
A PICO analysis is used to pose a specific clinical question to which appropriate evidence-based answers are found. The patient or population (P), anticipated intervention (I), comparison group or current standard (C), and desired outcome (O) should all be included in the PICO question (O). In this Assignment, you will create a question about dementia, delirium, or depression. To answer the question you develop, you conduct a PICO analysis in which you investigate various resources and examine current evidence.
To get ready:
Choose one of the disorders listed below as your topic: dementia, delirium, or depression.
Examine the guidelines in this week’s Learning Resources document, “Literature Review Matrix.”
Consider a research question related to your issue, as suggested in Part I: PICO Analysis of Research Topic.
As indicated in Part II: Search Strategy, consider the resources you will use, search terms and criteria, and Boolean search strings.
Locate five articles related to your PICO question using the Walden Library and other appropriate databases. A systematic review must be included in at least one article. The articles should all be primary sources.
Consider the five articles you chose in Part III: Analysis of Literature. Consider each article’s conceptual framework/theory, main finding, research method, study strengths, weaknesses, and level of evidence.
Consider how to create an evidence table using the summaries from Part III. Use this evidence table to determine the best treatment options for patients with the disorder you chose as your topic.
To finish:
Create a question based on the disorder you chose in Part I: PICO Analysis of Research Topic.
As indicated in Part II: Search Strategy, identify the resources you will use, search terms and criteria, and Boolean search strings.
Summarize the five articles you chose as indicated in Part III: Literature Analysis. For each article, describe the conceptual framework/theory, main finding, research method, study strengths, weaknesses, and level of evidence.
Make an evidence table using the article summaries from Part III. Using this evidence table, describe appropriate treatment options for patients.
You should proofread your paper. However, do not rely solely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part, and your grade will suffer as a result. Papers with a high number of misspelled words and grammatical errors will be penalized. Before submitting your paper, go over it in silence and then aloud, and make any necessary changes. It is often beneficial to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Uncorrected mistakes are preferable to handwritten corrections.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point typeface (10 to 12 characters per inch). Smaller or compressed type, as well as papers with narrow margins or single spacing, are difficult to read. It is preferable to allow your essay to exceed the recommended number of pages rather than attempting to compress it into fewer pages.
Large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are also unacceptable, waste trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced, and have a one-inch margin on all four sides of each page. When submitting hard copies, use white paper and print with dark ink. It will be difficult to follow your argument if it is difficult to read your essay.
