ENGL 104 Unit 5 – Discussion Board

The most compelling topic during this course to me was tones. I’d say my strong suite is definitely not writing, but it did broaden my knowledge significantly learning and practicing professional emails with different tones. I have to send emails at work daily, so it’s definitely a skill I intend on practicing.

Participating in the discussion boards really helped the knowledge from intellipaths stick. Getting to see how others were responding and how their thought processes were different than mine was also very interesting. It mainly helped getting to practice and getting feedback on my practice topics shortly after. I don’t think there’s any course material left that could be clarified. It was all very straight forward as well as very concise.

This may not be a popular opinion, but I think a final writing prompt that would be a bit larger would help solidify the knowledge we’ve gained throughout the course. Or possibly building from one discussion board to the other. Something like answering a prompt as a rough draft, getting feedback from our peers, and using the next discussion board as a final draft. This may provide the opportunity to display the skills we learned from the course while exercising different drafts and implementing feedback.
