The purpose of this article is to give advice in ethical practice when using telehealth and telemedicine. The article looks at the challenges and benefits of Telehealth and Telemedicine as it dives into many aspects involved in these types of care. Some of the topics are the risks to privacy, how to know when a patient should utilize this type of care, and physician competence in delivering care.

This article evaluates the contentment of patients living in rural areas regarding telehealth as an option for care management. The article analyzes many library database searches related to the researched criteria and discusses the results that indicate patient satisfaction in different areas surrounding telehealth. The overall results indicate patients are satisfied with telehealth as an option for care when living in a remote location.

Telemedicine is looked at in many aspects of care such as tele-education and tele- case management and discusses the effectiveness when used correctly. The benefit of telemedicine in this article focuses on virtual visits rather than in person.
Section 2: Statement on Importance of Research in Nursing
Critical thinking is very important in nursing as this is how nurses give the best care every day. To critically think, nurses need to look at the big picture and not just focus on each detail alone. Details are just a piece of the puzzle but when you step back it is clearer to see the big picture that will guide decision making. Research can help nurses with critical thinking about factors that influence the needs of the profession by adding to their knowledge. Research is a way to continue to learn and grow in the profession as many topics researched look at studies and evidence- based practices. Research is a means to share experiences in nursing and this helps others learn from you and the experiences documented.
Nursing is changed by research, and this is why it is very important to feel empowered as nurses to write about the changes implemented and document the success or failures at times so history does not repeat itself. Gaining experience through research can help with problem solving when working in the healthcare profession and can shape the future of healthcare for nurses and consumers. Healthcare consumers can benefit from nurses doing research for the same reason as it helps prevent similar events or studies that may not be successful. Consumers will also benefit as nurses can better advocate for patients when having researched and having evidence to support the facts. We learn from mistakes, and therefore research is important to grow from them rather than making the same mistake twice.
