Indeed, variables can be said to be the fundamental units of knowledge or specific information, especially when reviewing, analyzing, and translating the latest scientific research and evidence. With the availability of both independent and dependent variables, it is pretty important for the researchers to analyze their values and also see their relationship. You stated your definitions with clarity, and one could not agree less. In a concise way, I could add the definition of the independent variable as what the scientist changes or what changes (manipulated variable) on its own in research. In other words, the independent variable must be changed by the scientist, or it will change on its own; nothing else in the experiment affects or alters it (Sarikas, 2018). On the other hand, the dependent variable can also be briefly defined as; What is being studied or measured in an experiment. It is sometimes known as the responding variable, I.e., what shifts when the independent variable is changed or changes.

– Professional Strategies at Grantham University 16th of February, 2019 1 TECHNOLOGY IN NURSING 2 What Impact Does Technology Have on Nursing Practice? Introduction In today’s world, technology has evolved into a tool for efficient service delivery and product production. While technology may appear to have initiated and significantly changed nursing practice, it is critical to thoroughly research the impacts in this field. Some health practitioners have been critical of the implementation of Electronic Health Records in recent decades. However, it is clear that many organizations have embraced the technology, owing to the benefits that facilities can reap from the implementation of Electronic Health Registers. From a broader perspective, nursing practice appears to be the backbone of health care facilities. As a result, any improvement in nursing practice improves overall service delivery and the health facility’s image. Technology has improved communication, nurse education, and research in nursing. Statement of the Problem Most industries and professionals around the world are utilizing technology for cost-cutting, efficiency, and overall performance, among other advantages. It is important to note that the use of technology has the potential to significantly reduce the cost of providing healthcare while also improving the services provided by nurse practitioners.

How are nurse practitioners utilizing technology? NURSING TECHNOLOGY 3 The study’s goal The primary goal of this research is to look at how technology has changed nurse practice. This study examines the various areas in which nurse practitioners are utilizing technology in their efforts to provide high quality and timely healthcare in order to eliminate the health challenges confronting modern society (Elgin & Bergero, 2015). As such, the purpose of this research proposal is to determine the assistance of various technological advancements in assisting nurse practitioners, such as the implementation of Electronic Health Records, the use of the internet in research, big data, and cloud computing for easy access to records and communication between nurses and patients. Question for investigation This research proposal addresses the question of what the effects of technology in nursing practice are in order to achieve the aforementioned goal. It is worth noting that nurse practitioners, like other professionals, use technology. In this regard, the purpose of this research proposal is to identify the various benefits that technology has influenced in nurse practice, as well as why nurse practitioners should continue to use technology. The Importance of the Research The research on the effects of technology on nursing practice is significant in many ways. To begin, this study will determine the significance of leveraging technology in nurse practice in order to reduce or eliminate the common problem of burnout among nurse practitioners. It is also worth noting that the study will look into the various changes and benefits that technological advancements such as Electronic Health Records TECHNOLOGY IN NURSING 4 have had on nurse practice (Lavin, Harper & Barr, 2015).

According to recent research, the use of EHRs has significantly reduced the cost of running healthcare facilities. Importantly, electronic health records have made it easier for nurses to access patient records. The latter demonstrates that with the implementation of EHRs, nurses are less likely to experience burnout. Traditionally, nurses would go through manual documents to determine the patients’ records, regardless of how long the lines were. Nurses can access detailed information about patients in seconds thanks to EHRs (Weaver, Delaney, Weber & Carr, 2016). As a result, the technology that has brought HER has greatly benefited nurses in record keeping, influencing efficiency in health care facilities and promoting the image of facilities while ensuring the health of the communities they serve. As previously stated, EHRs enable nurse practitioners to achieve their goals at a lower cost and with less energy. In fact, the system enables nurse practitioners to serve more clients in a shorter period of time (Piscotty, Kalisch, & GraceyThomas, 2015). However, as nurses are able to serve more clients, they require more storage space to accommodate the growing volume of patient data. This research will also help to determine what procedures or technological strategies nurse practitioners are using to improve storage facilities in order to avoid system downtimes and eventual system failures. From this standpoint, the purpose of this research proposal is to determine the extent to which nurse practitioners are utilizing cloud computing to improve patient data storage. The increased storage of data creates a pool of information that nurse practitioners can use in their research to develop other interventions for various health problems.

NURSING TECHNOLOGY 5 CONCLUSION This research proposal concludes that the use of technology in the health care sector has a significant impact on nurse practice. Notably, technology has influenced the proper and simpler method of record keeping, allowing for better service to the people and thus improved community health. Furthermore, technology has improved communication between nurse practitioners and physicians in order to increase efficiency. Finally, technology has had a significant impact on research for the implementation of various intervention strategies using big data. NURSING TECHNOLOGY 6 REFERENCES K. H. Elgin and C.
