Discussion: Well-established Health Care
Discussion: Well-established Health Care
The CEO of a well-established health care organization has led the organization to a period of sustained stability and profitability. The CEO, on the other hand, was recently and unexpectedly released by the Board of Directors amid rumors of impropriety on the CEO’s part. You’ve been appointed as the new CEO. During the interview process, you anecdotally assessed the organization’s culture and believe a cultural shift is necessary. Because the magnitude of the expected shift is unknown, you have decided to approach the Board about conducting a lengthy and costly cultural assessment to assist you in planning for the expected cultural changes. The organization’s stability and profitability are jeopardized.
General Conditions:
To ensure successful completion of the assignment, use the following information:
Examine the module’s information on the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) and the Organizational Culture Inventory (OCI) (OCI).
A rubric is used for this assignment. Please review the rubric before beginning the assignment to become acquainted with the requirements for successful completion.
For their writing assignments, doctoral students must use APA style. The Student Success Center houses the APA Style Guide.
This assignment requires at least two more scholarly research sources related to this topic, as well as at least one in-text citation from each source.
Directions:
Prepare a persuasive presentation (15-20 slides, excluding the reference list) to explain the rationale for and benefits of cultural
assessment, as well as your preferred assessment instrument, to the Board of Directors. For each slide, speaker notes must be included. The presentation must include the following elements:
Make a compelling case for conducting a cultural assessment of the organization, which will result in the improvement of the current culture at the risk of temporary instability or short-term loss of profitability.
Explain why you chose the assessment instruments you did.
Create a timeline for the assessment process that includes pre-assessment communications, the assessment window, data analysis, and post-assessment communications.
Deliver a specific request to the Board of Directors for approval of this plan.
You should proofread your paper. However, do not rely solely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part, and your grade will suffer as a result. Papers with a high number of misspelled words and grammatical errors will be penalized. Before submitting your paper, go over it in silence and then aloud, and make any necessary changes. It is often beneficial to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Uncorrected mistakes are preferable to handwritten corrections.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point typeface (10 to 12 characters per inch). Smaller or compressed type, as well as papers with narrow margins or single spacing, are difficult to read. It is preferable to allow your essay to exceed the recommended number of pages rather than attempting to compress it into fewer pages.
Large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are also unacceptable, waste trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced, and have a one-inch margin on all four sides of each page. When submitting hard copies, use white paper and print with dark ink. It will be difficult to follow your argument if it is difficult to read your essay.
