Healthcare system is highly dynamic and this means that the healthcare providers must strive to develop novel approaches to address health issues. Evidence-based practices and protocols developed to address specific health issues and improve the patients’ experiences. The key outcomes in evidence-based practice include reduced cost of treatment, better patient and population health and better quality of life for the healthcare providers. Furthermore, the nursing professionals must collaborate with other healthcare providers to realize successful implementation of the evidence-based practices. The purpose of this study is to reflect on the impact of the evidence-based practices on the health outcomes, the nursing profession and the healthcare delivery.

The Role of the Interviewed Nurse Leader

In understanding the role of evidence-based practice, an interview was conducted with the nurse leader. The role of the nurse leader was to coordinate the activities taking place in the emergency unit. Also, she indicated that she was responsible for developing the work sheets for the employees. Furthermore, the nurses worked to ensure continuum care delivery to the patients by collaborating with other departments. The nurse leader worked with other healthcare providers in developing new and improved modes of operation that would influence positive patients’ outcomes in the healthcare delivery (Singh Atwal, 2021).

telehealth system in the organization to promote collaboration and teamwork in the organization. The telehealth system would allow the healthcare providers to interact and communicate with each other frequently and this helped in promoting the quality of healthcare delivered to the patients. Furthermore, the healthcare providers would easily consult with one another and so provide the best care to the patients.

The evidence-based practice influenced positive changes in the organization. The first outcome from the EBP is that the healthcare providers would communicate and interact with one another easily. The frequent communication meant that the healthcare providers would interact easily and this enhanced transparency. In an environment where there is transparency, the healthcare providers take responsibility to deliver their best and so fosters the culture of safety and high quality (Chen, 2021). Also, the healthcare providers were willing to improve on their skills and operated with a lot of civility considering that there was no room for blaming each other, but instead, they all owned the quality operations and outcomes in the healthcare delivery.

Most Inspiring Part from The Interview

I found it most inspiring that the healthcare providers were able to work together in addressing the needs of the patient. Furthermore, the nurse leader was positive about inter-disciplinary collaboration. Working jointly in addressing the patients’ needs improve the quality of care they receive.

Conclusion

Finally, the interview with the nurse leader indicated that evidence-based practices have a critical role in improving the quality of care patients receive. In this case, the nurse leader worked with other healthcare professionals in implementing the telehealth system. The system made it easy for the healthcare providers to communicate with one another and this also improved the patients’ experiences. In addition, the practice improved civility in the working environment and the healthcare providers were highly satisfied with their working environment.
