I agree with you that in order to carry out an effective EBP it is imperative to carry out all the six necessary steps so that the entire process is complete and meets the required standards of clinical research process. This is the key to transforming the nursing practices into more efficient, effective and safe for the patients (Stevens, 2020). The EBP in nursing is crucial in developing new ideas or practices or improve on already existing knowledge.

Nurses explore sources of evidence such as journals, protocols and national guidelines to determine whether the question is appropriate to guide evidence-based practice. Nurses utilize databases such as EMBASE and CINAHL to obtain the needed information. The fourth step entails the appraising of evidence. Appraising the evidence aims at determining the quality of data.

It focuses on aspects such as applicability and validity of the reported evidence. The fifth step is application where the evidence is translated into clinical practice (Grove & Gray, 2018).
