The lack of learner consideration can lead to the inclusion of objectives that the nursing learner is already conversant with, leading to a waste of the educators’ and learners’ time. There is also the risk of excluding objectives that learners are not knowledgeable thereby risking patients’ health and safety (Raffing et al., 2023). Therefore, a learner needs assessment is critical and should be an integrated component of course development.

Nursing education needs to prioritize learner needs assessment, which should be the basis of the development of the nursing curriculum. It helps the nurse educator answer “Why?” when planning teaching materials. In nursing education, the needs of the learner should take priority (Schneiderhan et al., 2019). Discussion Questions (DQ)

As per policy, no assignments are accepted after the last day of class. Any assignment submitted after midnight on the last day of class will not be accepted for grading.
