Walden University NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned-Step-By-Step Guide
This guide will demonstrate how to complete the Walden University NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned assignment based on general principles of academic writing. Here, we will show you the A, B, Cs of completing an academic paper, irrespective of the instructions. After guiding you through what to do, the guide will leave one or two sample essays at the end to highlight the various sections discussed below.
How to Research and Prepare for NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned
Whether one passes or fails an academic assignment such as the Walden University NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned depends on the preparation done beforehand. The first thing to do once you receive an assignment is to quickly skim through the requirements. Once that is done, start going through the instructions one by one to clearly understand what the instructor wants. The most important thing here is to understand the required format—whether it is APA, MLA, Chicago, etc.
After understanding the requirements of the paper, the next phase is to gather relevant materials. The first place to start the research process is the weekly resources. Go through the resources provided in the instructions to determine which ones fit the assignment. After reviewing the provided resources, use the university library to search for additional resources. After gathering sufficient and necessary resources, you are now ready to start drafting your paper.
How to Write the Introduction for NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned
The introduction for the Walden University NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned is where you tell the instructor what your paper will encompass. In three to four statements, highlight the important points that will form the basis of your paper. Here, you can include statistics to show the importance of the topic you will be discussing. At the end of the introduction, write a clear purpose statement outlining what exactly will be contained in the paper. This statement will start with “The purpose of this paper…” and then proceed to outline the various sections of the instructions.
How to Write the Body for NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned
After the introduction, move into the main part of the NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned assignment, which is the body. Given that the paper you will be writing is not experimental, the way you organize the headings and subheadings of your paper is critically important. In some cases, you might have to use more subheadings to properly organize the assignment. The organization will depend on the rubric provided. Carefully examine the rubric, as it will contain all the detailed requirements of the assignment. Sometimes, the rubric will have information that the normal instructions lack.
Another important factor to consider at this point is how to do citations. In-text citations are fundamental as they support the arguments and points you make in the paper. At this point, the resources gathered at the beginning will come in handy. Integrating the ideas of the authors with your own will ensure that you produce a comprehensive paper. Also, follow the given citation format. In most cases, APA 7 is the preferred format for nursing assignments.
How to Write the Conclusion for NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned
After completing the main sections, write the conclusion of your paper. The conclusion is a summary of the main points you made in your paper. However, you need to rewrite the points and not simply copy and paste them. By restating the points from each subheading, you will provide a nuanced overview of the assignment to the reader.
How to Format the References List for NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned
The very last part of your paper involves listing the sources used in your paper. These sources should be listed in alphabetical order and double-spaced. Additionally, use a hanging indent for each source that appears in this list. Lastly, only the sources cited within the body of the paper should appear here.

Sample Answer for NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned
May 2012, Alice Randall wrote an article for The New York Times on the cultural factors that encouraged black women to maintain a weight above what is considered healthy. Randall explained—from her observations and her personal experience as a black woman—that many African-American communities and cultures consider women who are overweight to be more beautiful and desirable than women at a healthier weight. As she put it, “Many black women are fat because we want to be” (Randall, 2012).
Beatrice, I enjoyed your post and you have well thought out effective communication techniques concerning the elderly. You had mentioned the importance of taking it slow and having patience. It is important as a provider to understand that different patients will require different approaches to communication (Ball et al., 2019). For instance, some that may be hearing and or visually impaired as well. I agree with your discussion on the fall risks with the elderly. A fall risk screening could be implemented at each visit. I had chosen the PQH-9 as I am familiar with it in my nurse practice and its easy and relatively quick for patients to fill out. I feel that mental health should be assessed in all areas of medicine as depression is ranked as the number one psychiatric disorder (Sun et al., 2020). Great post and I hope I was able to add to it!

Randall’s statements sparked a great deal of controversy and debate; however, they emphasize an underlying reality in the healthcare field: different populations, cultures, and groups have diverse beliefs and practices that impact their health. Nurses and healthcare professionals should be aware of this reality and adapt their health assessment techniques and recommendations to accommodate diversity.
In this Discussion, you will consider different socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors that should be taken into considerations when building a health history for patients with diverse backgrounds. Your Instructor will assign a case study to you for this Discussion.
To prepare:
- Reflect on your experiences as a nurse and on the information provided in this week’s Learning Resources on diversity issues in health assessments.
- By Day 1 of this week, you will be assigned a case study by your Instructor. Note: Please see the “Course Announcements” section of the classroom for your case study assignment.
- Reflect on the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors related to the health of the patient assigned to you.
- Consider how you would build a health history for the patient. What questions would you ask, and how would you frame them to be sensitive to the patient’s background, lifestyle, and culture? Develop five targeted questions you would ask the patient to build his or her health history and to assess his or her health risks.
- Think about the challenges associated with communicating with patients from a variety of specific populations. What strategies can you as a nurse employ to be sensitive to different cultural factors while gathering the pertinent information?
By Day 3 of Week 2
Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned. Explain the issues that you would need to be sensitive to when interacting with the patient, and why. Provide at least five targeted questions you would ask the patient to build his or her health history and to assess his or her health risks.

Spirituality is the way to find meaning, hope, comfort, and inner peace in life. Many people find spirituality through religion. Some people find it through music, art, or a connection with nature. Others find it in their values and principles. Spirituality involves the recognition of a feeling or sense or belief that there is something greater than myself, something more to being human than sensory experience, and that the greater whole of which we are part is cosmic or divine in nature.
Healthy spirituality gives a sense of peace, wholeness, and balance among the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of our lives. However, for most people, the path to such spirituality passes through struggles and suffering and often includes experiences that are frightening and painful. Positive beliefs, comfort, and strength gained from religion, meditation, and prayer can contribute to well-being. It may even promote healing. Improving your spiritual health may not cure an illness, but it may help you feel better.
Patients who are spiritual may utilize their beliefs in coping with illness, pain, and life stresses. Some studies indicate that those who are spiritual tend to have a more positive outlook and a better quality of life (Bogue, 2020).
Similar to other caring activities and procedures, spiritual care improves people’s spiritual well-being and performance as well as the quality of their spiritual life. Spiritual care has positive effects on individuals’ stress responses, and spiritual well-being such as the balance between physical, psychosocial, and spiritual aspects of self, a sense of integrity and excellence, and interpersonal relationships. Spiritual well-being is important for an individual’s health potential and the experience of illness/hospitalization can threaten the optimum achievement of this potential. Professional nursing embraces spiritual care as a dimension of practice.
Nurses’ practice patterns in the area of spiritual care can be grouped into two categories including religious and nonreligious interventions. Religious interventions include treating patients’ religious beliefs without prejudice, providing them with opportunities for connecting with God and expressing their values and beliefs, helping them practice their religion, and referring them to clerical and religious leaders (O’Brien, et al., 2019). Nonreligious interventions include nurses’ presence for patients and their families, making direct eye contact when communicating with patients, sympathizing with patients and their families, listening to patients and their families attentively, and having love and enthusiasm for patients.
Although spiritual care is meant to help people, I frequently gain as a nurse. Interpersonal trust and a connection with the patient require high emotional intelligence. It’s important to realize that spirituality isn’t always theological care (Ross et al., 2018). Whereas the healthcare industry easily incorporates spirituality into therapy, spiritual care is essential in all sectors of operation. For the sake of our clients, we as caregivers must respect spiritual support, learn the required skills, and schedule time to satisfy these needs.

Sample Answer 3 for NURS 6512 Post an explanation of the specific socioeconomic, spiritual, lifestyle, and other cultural factors associated with the patient you were assigned
The nature of nursing care worldwide allows nurses to encounter clients and coworkers from different backgrounds. Whereas this will enable nurses to appreciate and benefit from the diversity of perspectives, it also presents a unique and challenging set of factors that affect health. For each client, various conditions of life influence health, including socioeconomic, cultural, spiritual, and even habitual elements of life (Ball et al., 2023). In the assigned case study, Shawn Billings’s lifestyle and sociocultural background affect his health and impact the health assessment. He presented to the clinic with another migraine.
First, a close look at Shawn’s case study reveals that he belongs to a racial minority group in his environment. He may face healthcare access disparities, affordability, and outcomes issues as an African American. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,2017). This is evidenced by concerns about not being able to receive any medication. Based on the limited information provided, he previously received medication to treat his migraines. However, little has been done to investigate the cause or help manage the chronic condition. African Americans suffer more from chronic pain and disease than others and are undertreated (Penner et al.,2016). He also meets serious socioeconomic factors and financial constraints that may affect his access to care. Black Americans are more likely to live in poverty, have limited access to healthy foods, live in areas with higher levels of pollution, and experience stress at a higher level due to socioeconomic status (Maly & Vallerand,2018).
Further, his cultural beliefs could be a severe factor to consider, as respecting and evaluating them is essential. The patient’s father attending the appointment should be included in the son’s care. This will ensure a proper treatment and assessment approach that aligns with his values and help him develop a suitable coping mechanism to support his overall well-being (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2020). The issue of spirituality goes hand in hand with the cultural factors encompassing health and illness-related beliefs, communication styles, and even family dynamics related to health (Ball et al., 2023).
There are several issues in the case study that demand sensitivity. First, it is crucial to appreciate that health disparities related to healthcare are a concern and reality. In addition, it is essential to be sensitive about the client’s spiritual beliefs, level of education, family history, lifestyle choices, and cultural perspectives. Patients may take offense to questions about income or feel discriminated against based on their beliefs and race. Addressing these issues without judgment helps achieve optimal assessment results and care (Ball et al., 2023). When the nurse is sensitive to the client’s diverse needs, building trust and a therapeutic relationship to provide adequate care is easy.
Several questions about the client’s situation can be explored to perform a comprehensive healthcare assessment based on the above case. These include;
- Can you please share any emotional and spiritual factors in your life today that can contribute to your migraines?
- What is your daily routine, including diet, sleep patterns, and others that may affect your health?
- Can you think of any cultural practices that you hold that relate to your current health status, which may be affecting your health plan?
- Do you have any specific sources of stress in your daily life, work, or even business? How do you cope with the stress?
- What challenges do you experience in accessing healthcare, adhering to treatment, or accessing the right drugs?
In conclusion, patients like Shawn present a critical aspect of care related to cultural inclusivity and competence. By understanding and taking into serious consideration the various aspects of care and life of the client that can affect their health, a nurse can approach assessment so that valuable information about the client will be gathered. This eventually guides professional decision-making and helps to approach care from an informed and objective perspective. Further, when clients encounter a care provider keen on understanding and dealing with them sensitively, they are ready to develop trust and cooperate with the care processes that eventually improve their health outcomes.
