Discussion: Homogenous Ethnicity HCA 827
Discussion: Homogenous Ethnicity HCA 827
Since its founding nearly a century ago, a small rural community has had a stable population, including a consistent median age and a relatively homogeneous ethnicity. However, the area’s natural beauty and suitability for outdoor activities have transformed the community into a tourist and recreational destination in the last 5 years. This has resulted in a seasonal population of recreational visitors. As a result, the community’s integrated health care system is seeing an increase in demand for emergency and urgent care. Because of government regulation surrounding the delivery of emergency care regardless of the patients’ ability to pay, the health care system is under financial strain. In this assignment, you will create a presentation for the board of the community health care system that outlines the necessary changes and potential innovations to respond to the economic pressures of this community’s demographic changes.

required to provide adequate services and improve quality of care for this changing community for the board of the community health care system described above. The following items must be included in the presentation:
A description of the modification or innovation
A justification for the change or innovation. What demographic and/or other community changes have resulted in the need for your proposed change or innovation? What practical purpose will this serve?
An examination of the steps you will take to assess the change or innovation. When will these procedures be carried out? What are the change’s or innovation’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT)?
A description of how the change or innovation will affect the governance and structure of the current health-care system. (Benchmark 12.1: Examine the governance and organizational structure of health-care institutions.)
A description of the government regulations that influence how this change or innovation is implemented. How will the interaction of these regulations and the proposed change or innovation affect the quality of care? (Benchmark 12.2: Assess the impact of government regulations on health-care quality.)
You should proofread your paper. However, do not rely solely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part, and your grade will suffer as a result. Papers with a high number of misspelled words and grammatical errors will be penalized. Before submitting your paper, go over it in silence and then aloud, and make any necessary changes. It is often beneficial to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Uncorrected mistakes are preferable to handwritten corrections.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point typeface (10 to 12 characters per inch). Smaller or compressed type, as well as papers with narrow margins or single spacing, are difficult to read. It is preferable to allow your essay to exceed the recommended number of pages rather than attempting to compress it into fewer pages.
Large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are also unacceptable, waste trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced, and have a one-inch margin on all four sides of each page. When submitting hard copies, use white paper and print with dark ink. It will be difficult to follow your argument if it is difficult to read your essay.
