Sample Answer for Identify the two recommendations for nursing education you believe will be most effective or radical in creating change within the industry
One of the recommendations for nursing education is most effective in creating change within the industry is to encourage advancement of nursing education among nurse practitioners. The US health care system is experiencing major changes in the practice environments and nurses should strive to keep with the changes to maintain high standards of patients care. These changes need continuous advances in nursing education to help in keeping nurses abreast with the changing practice environment (Fukada, 2018). Advancing nursing education is critical in improving understanding and experience in patient care management, re-conceptualized nursing roles, change management at the system level, and quality improvement (Pritchard, 2019). Personally, after graduating with Masters in Nursing, I will be equipped to function as a nurse leader, attain the care needs of diverse patient population, and enhance research and critical skills through capacity building to provide safe and quality care.
The other recommendation is to funding and grants for nurses to further their education. Majority of nurses who intend to further their studies often face barriers of lack of funds. For instance, I had to postpone enrolment for master in nursing program for nearly two years due to lack of funds. Therefore, if health care organizations and nursing organizations can provide financial incentives for nurses to further their studies; many nurses will be empowered to delivery best care and prepared with critical skills to navigate challenges in health care. As result, many challenges that characterize health care system such as nursing shortage will be addressed.
Yes I agree with how the Institute of Medicine (IOM) describes the advanced practice registered nurse role evolving. Health care is constantly changing and nurses should strive to keep with those changes to stay updated on the current practices (Fukada, 2018). Today, there are more nursing responsibilities, better health care facilities, sophisticated equipment, informed patients, superior technology, and high focus on patient care. Therefore, APRNs should advance their skills and knowledge to empower them with the voice in health care decision making process and avoid being micromanaged by physicians.

Sample Answer 2 for Identify the two recommendations for nursing education you believe will be most effective or radical in creating change within the industry
Spiritual growth involves understanding life challenges and being able to grow into a better wholesome and happy individual. I agree that it is important to encourage academic and spiritual growth together. There is so much to be grateful for despite the struggles and challenges we face. Through spiritual growth we can learn to see the beauty and wonder in our day-to-day life including at work or at school. Student develops values and a sense of purpose and the things we often take for granted can start to offer us greater inspiration and joy.
Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Our faith helps us to believe that God is with us, and it help us to believe in ourselves, thus making meaningful change. Spiritual growth helps us to be better individuals and as nursing personnel, gives us the opportunity to go the extra mile for all. It makes us show more compassion and understanding and caring attitude towards or client and that we interact with on a day-to-day basis.
Findings show that religious engagement among students declines during college, but their spirituality shows substantial growth. “Students become more caring, more tolerant, more connected with others, and more actively engaged in a spiritual quest.” (“Cultivating the Spirit – Spirituality in Higher Education”) The authors also found that spiritual growth enhances other outcomes, such as academic performance, psychological well-being, leadership development, and satisfaction with college. The study also identified a number of college activities that contribute to students’ spiritual growth. Some of these–study abroad, interdisciplinary studies, and service learning–appear to be effective because they expose students to new and diverse people, cultures, and ideas. Spiritual development is also enhanced if students engage in “inner work” through activities such as meditation or self-reflection, or if their professors actively encourage them to explore questions of meaning and purpose. (“Cultivating the Spirit – Spirituality in Higher (Alexander W, 2010)”). By raising public awareness of the key role that spirituality plays in student learning and development, by alerting academic administrators, faculty, and curriculum committees to the importance of spiritual development, and by identifying strategies for enhancing that development, this work encourages institutions to give greater priority to these spiritual aspects of students’ educational and professional development.

Expert Papers from the National Academy of Medicine Identify Lessons Learned and Compelling Needs for Health Product Manufacturers & Innovators and Digital Health After COVID-19
WASHINGTON – In response to the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the American health system, the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) has convened experts in nine sectors of health, health care, and biomedical research to review how each sector responded to COVID-19, identify challenges encountered in combating the pandemic, and outline opportunities to reinforce, revitalize, and transform the health system including improving health equity for all. These insights are being released as nine NAM Perspectives discussion papers, and then bundled into a NAM Special Publication titled Emerging Stronger After COVID-19: Priorities for Health System Transformation, which is scheduled to be released in Spring 2022. The NAM Special Publication will include all nine previously published papers and a new concluding chapter that reviews cross-cutting themes and opportunities from the individual papers.
The final two papers in this series, focused on health product manufacturers and innovators and on digital health, were published January 18, 2022. Health Product Manufacturers and Innovators COVID-19 Impact Assessment: Lessons Learned and Compelling Needs focuses on the experience of organizations that research, develop, and manufacture products and services to support health and health care. The discussion paper focuses specifically on five product types: diagnostics, hospital equipment, medical devices, therapeutics, and vaccines.
“We were all impacted early in the pandemic. However, our respective cultures of innovation and our collective mission to make a positive impact on the health and well-being of people around the world helped us remain resilient and flexible, and creatively respond to the challenges that came our way,” said Mathai Mammen, Executive Vice President, Pharmaceuticals R&D, Johnson & Johnson, one of the paper’s co-leads. “The unprecedented collaboration across organizations and between sectors – in particular, to expedite vaccine and therapeutic options to tackle the pandemic, while also continuing to deliver innovation for other unmet medical needs – has been a silver lining to the challenges of COVID-19 and a strength we’ll strive to carry forward.”
The paper identifies how each sub-sector of the health product manufacturers and innovators sector responded to COVID-19, including challenges they faced, creative solutions employed, and areas of focus to strengthen health product manufacturing and services, as well as a focus on ensuring that all activities within the sector prioritize health equity.
“The pandemic has revealed opportunities for leaders and organizations to come together across sectors to strengthen health systems and preparedness and ultimately secure a healthier future for humankind. For example, we must minimize disruption to patient care during crises like this and ensure there is adequate capacity for medicines to continue to be produced and delivered across supply chains around the world,” said Vas Narasimhan, Chief Executive Officer of Novartis and one of the paper’s co-leads. “Most importantly, the pandemic has revealed the need to invest in and support biomedical research, as science-based action has proven once again to rise to the occasion when humanity is most in need.”
The final paper in the series focused on digital health. Digital health tools have become ubiquitous in fields outside of health and health care, and hold significant promise to transform how health care is practiced and how individuals stay well. However, the authors of this paper acknowledge that the pandemic arrived in the midst of a promise that did not entirely deliver.
“Our ability to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic efficiently and effectively was greatly enhanced by the investments our nation has made in digital health,” noted Peter Lee, Corporate Vice President, Research and Incubations, Microsoft, one of the paper’s co-leads. “Unfortunately, we also learned that using these digital capabilities in pandemic response too often required ad hoc and often wildly inventive mobilization of thousands of independent digital systems. While we laud such valiant efforts, a coherent and accessible data infrastructure in the United States would have made it possible to support rapid response to the pandemic without the need for such technological heroism. The successes of digital health were and continue to be significant, but the pandemic experience also has exposed more clearly than ever the need for progress toward this infrastructure.”
Digital Health COVID-19 Impact Assessment: Lessons Learned and Compelling Needs details successes digital health helped enable across all health care sectors during the pandemic, and identifies opportunities for future innovation, research, development, and implementation. The discussion paper emphasizes the ubiquity of digital health across all sectors of the health care system, and reinforces that it is in the best interest of all sectors to ensure that health data is standardized, secure, private, and easily shared.
“Truly harnessing the full power of digital health and data can help transform how we conduct clinical research and deliver care in this country,” said Amy Abernethy, President, Clinical Studies Platforms at Verily, and one of the paper’s co-leads. “We have learned so much over the last year and a half, and now our priorities are clear — quality longitudinal health data can inform our understanding of which interventions work, and for whom, and ultimately enable a continuously learning health system to ensure every person gets the care they need. We must address health disparities and improve health equity. Security and privacy are also fundamental. To achieve the promise of digital technologies and tools, we’ll need collaboration across every facet of the healthcare system — it’s now upon us to advance this opportunity.”

The NAM Special Publication, Emerging Stronger After COVID-19: Priorities for Health System Transformation, will be released in Spring 2022 and will be available at nam.edu/publications.

Be advised that I grade based on quality and not necessarily the number of words you post. A minimum of TWO references should be used for your initial post. For your response post, you do not need references as personal experiences would count as response posts. If you however cite anything from the literature for your response post, it is required that you cite your reference. You should include a minimum of THREE references for papers in this course. Please note that references should be no more than 5 years old except recommended as a resource for the class. Furthermore, for each discussion board question, you need ONE initial substantive response and TWO substantive responses to either your classmates or your instructor for a total of THREE responses. You could also respond to these as it would count towards your required SIX discussion posts for the week.
I understand this is a lot of information to cover in 5 weeks, however, the Bible says in Philippians 4:13 that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Even in times like this, we are encouraged by God’s word that we have that ability in us to succeed with His strength.
